Residents of the Nottingham Country neighborhood celebrated Independence Day with a bike parade. A fire engine from HCESD 48 led the way for participants of all ages, with patriotic music in the background. Two Harris County Pct. 5 constables brought up the rear.

Mayor Dusty Thiele, attorney David Frishman, and Veteranbs of Foreign Wars Post Commander Terry Higginbotham celebrate the Fourth of July at a luncheon held at the VFS Post 9182, 6206 George Bush Dr. Both Thiele and Higginbotham spoke at the luncheon, which featured hamburgers, hot dogs, along with other traditional fare.

Like other communities across America, Katy and Fulshear celebrated the Fourth of July in grand style.
Festivities included neigborhood parades where youngsters were the stars, as well as patriotic-themed lunches with dignitaries and veterans.
The holiday also featured traditional backyard barbecues with watermelon, along with festivals that featured live music.
The evening ended with the city's annual fireworks show over Typhoon Texas and Katy Mills Mall.
