Rock out to Bon Jovi music on June 7

Come to Central Green Park at LaCenterra and rock out to some Bon Jovi. The park will feature free live music from 8 to 9:30 p.m. performed by Let It Rock. LaCenterra is located near the Grand Parkway at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy.

‘Luke Day’ returns on June 8-9

Join NextHome Realty and the Fort Bend West Houston Lions Club on June 8-9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., for “Luke Day.” The event, held at Anodyne Pain and Health Group at 23519 Katy Freeway near Costco, will feature crafts, vendors and food and drink. B12 shots will be available and a voter registration drive will take place. For more information, go to luke.beagreatlion.org. Over 88 per cent of vendor registrations will benefit the Katy Police Department’s K9 Handlers in caring for the K9 units, with the remaining 12 per cent going to the Fort Bend County West Lions Club’s outreach.

Katy Cares to conduct ‘Essential Parenting Program’ beginning in June

Katy Cares, a Katy-based nonprofit that assists single-parent families who are victims of trauma due to a life-altering events, will launch a seven-session “Essential Parenting Program” beginning on June 10. The course is tailored for single parents seeking effective parenting skills and principles and will feature engaging discussions and proven strategies that resonate with real-life experiences, organizers say. Held every Monday from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. at The Tree House Academy of Katy at 21930 Chesterwick Drive in Katy, the classes are free but prior enrollment is required. Learn how to attract butterflies to your garden at June 13th seminar at Enchanted Gardens

Come learn from Lorenzo, the staff entomologist at Enchanted Gardens Nursery, who is passionate about not only bugs, but perennials and native plants. In a seminar to be held June 13th from 10 to 11:30 a.m., he will teach you how to create a pollinator-friendly garden at home. Learn how to incorporate native plants into your landscape and garden to attract these wonderful creatures!
