Los Vertigos, a roots rocker band, will perform from 7-10 p.m. May 19 at No Label Brewery, 5351 1st St., as it promotes its new extended single, “Death Came a Knockin’.”
Established in 2016, Los Vertigos have been performing at bars, night clubs, ice houses, breweries and festivals, giving their own spin to their roots rock-flavored music. In 2017, the band performed at a South by Southwest in Austin by invitation of showcase producer “Big Kev” Ploghoft of WLVR-FM in Bethlehem, Pa.
In 2019, Recovery Recordings released Los Vertigos’ first EP, Rock and Soul Salvation, in both CD and digital file format, which garnered national attention when it was spun by Genya Ravan of SiriusXM Radio, on Little Steven’s Underground Garage, Channel 21.
The new Los Vertigos extended single, “Death Came a Knockin’” B/W “Shakin’ All Over” released in April, is now available on all major (ITunes, Spotify, Amazon, Pandora, YouTube, Deezer) streaming platforms.

The Katy Elks Lodge #2628 is hosting a crawfish boil is from 2-7 p.m. May 29 at Katy Elks Lodge 2628, 1050 Katy Fort Bend Road. The kid-friendly event features games, face painting and other activities. A pound of crawfish is $5, with corn, potato and mushrooms being sold for 50 cents. Hamburgers, hot dogs and shrimp will be available in addition to the crawfish.

The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is calling all artists to submit their designs for the 2024 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show program cover.
First-sixth place winners will receive social media recognition and the first-place winner will have his or her artwork on the cover of the 2024 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show official program.

Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital is seeking help to locate the family of a male patient.
The patient is Hispanic, approximately 60 years old, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighs approximately 181 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has what appears to be a skin graft on his right leg. The patient was admitted to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital on April 6 after being picked up near the 5900 block of Glenmont Dr. He gave a name at the time but hospital staff has been unable to verify his name or locate his next of kin.
