Sarah McFarlane received one of the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program Opportunity Scholarships for $3,000 dollars, according to a July 9 press release from the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension.
The scholarships are based on academics, financial need, and experience in the 4-H program. Up to 225 scholarships were awarded, ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 dollars, depending on amounts given by donors. The Texas 4-H program attempts to provide recipients with the highest dollar amount of that scholarship that they are eligible for.
The Texas 4-H Scholarship Program works in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation. As a member in the 4-H Youth Development Foundation, McFarlane was awarded for her work within the program along with meeting other academic criteria.
