Vivian Zenia Powers, 71, of Brookshire, Texas passed away unexpectedly in her home and went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2020. She was born in Houston, Texas on August 10, 1949 to Charles Bernard Kitowski Sr. and Zenia Vivian DePhillippi Kitowski and was the oldest daughter of their eight children. On September 6, 1969 she married Steve Joe Powers, her husband of fifty-one years.
A homemaker and excellent baker, Vivian enjoyed sharing her homemade goodies and you would always get a sweet treat when visiting her. She was affectionately known to her nieces and nephews as Aunt Cookie. You would always find her listening to music. She especially loved the oldies. Yellow and red were her favorite colors and if you knew her the sun was her best friend. A loving and compassionate mother to her three children, Lisa, Theresa, and Jason. Vivian's happy nature and strength were something to be admired. Vivian loved life and her grandchildren, had a special affection for animals and was a true friend to everyone she met. She had a heart of gold and an unbreakable spirit and will always be remembered by her beautiful smile.
Vivian is preceded in death by her beloved parents Charles and Zenia Kitowski. She is survived by her husband Steve Joe Powers, daughters, Lisa Busker and husband Darren of Houston, Texas; Theresa Byers and husband Robbie of Fayetteville, Texas; son, Jason Powers and wife Courtney of Bellville, Texas; her seven brother's and sister's and their families; four grandchildren, Hannah, Karah, Colton, Emma; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local animal shelter of one's choice or The St. Vincent de Paul Society.
