Paetow and Jordan were well represented on the District 19-5A basketball team released this week.
The Panthers received a number of superlatives for the team, as Trevor Frank was named MVP of the district after helping lead the Panthers to a regional tournament appearance for the second straight season.
Charles Chukwu was named the district’s defensive player of the year. Paetow placed two on the first team in Ade Onaleye and Abou Camera, while EJ Roberts and Idy Igbaroola both were both named to the second team. Kam Ingram rounded out the Panthers’ all-district members, earning an honorable mention.
For Jordan, Shawn Mitchell was named the newcomer of the year in the district. The Warriors junior averaged 12 points per game this season to go along with six rebounds and four assists per game to earn the honors. Trevor Martz was named to the first team after averaging 13 points and nine rebounds per game while Misaias Herrera was named to the districts second team, as he averaged 10 points per game. Isiah Tchokonte was named an honorable mention.
On the girls all-district teams, Paetow and Jordan didn’t earn any superlatives, but placed members on the team.
Paetow placed Tianna Murray on the first team while Tiara Hite was named second team all-district. For Jordan, Abby Taylor was named to the second team while Kamryn Sanchez and Ava Daly were named honorable mentions.
