Tompkins finished off an unbeaten district season on Tuesday, claiming the District 19-6A title for the second straight year with a win in straight sets over Paetow.

It was the second straight undefeated district title for Tompkins, who finished the district season with an overall record of 36-3 and a record in district play of 16-0.

The win gives Tompkins a No. 1 seed out of district, as the Falcons will face Fort Bend Austin, the fourth place finisher in District 20-6A in the bi-district round at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Merrell Center.

Cinco Ranch clinched the second seed out of district after a very successful regular season. The Cougars finished district play with a 13-3 record to go along with an overall record of 25-12, as they enter the playoffs looking to make noise for the second year in a row.

The Cougars will take on George Ranch, which finished third in District 20-6A, in the first round of the playoffs, playing 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wheeler Field House.

The final two playoff spots in the district will come down to a play in game, as Seven Lakes and Taylor both finished with a 10-6 record in district play, and split the district series, with the Spartans sweeping the Mustangs in their first matchup and Taylor winning the second matchup in five sets in late September.

The two will face off at 5 p.m. Friday at the Merrell Center, with the winner taking the third seed in district and facing off against Fort Bend Travis, which finished second in District 20-6A and the loser taking the fourth seed and facing District 20-6A champion Ridge Point in the first round.

Seven Lakes bi-district matchup will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at Wheeler Field House, while Taylor’s bi-district time and location is still to be announced.
