Stephanie Marie was born in Chula Vista, California on April 17, 1987. Stephanie moved to Texas at 1 ½ years old and lived most of her life in the Katy/Cypress, Texas area. Stephanie’s education was spent in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School district, where she was a graduate of Cypress-Springs High School, class of 2005. During her years in school, Stephanie enjoyed cheerleading, track, volleyball, dance and drill team. During her high school years, Stephanie was an accomplished and beautiful dancer serving as a prideful member of the Cypress-Springs High School Panteras dance and drill team.

Upon High School graduation, Stephanie attended Lone Star College where she was the Captain of the Lone Star College dance team. Stephanie earned her Associates Degree in Accounting, graduating on the Dean’s List, cum laude with honors. After her graduation at Lone Star College, Stephanie continued her education at Sam Houston State University, majoring in Finance.

In October of 2009, Stephanie married Justin James Lambert. Stephanie always referred to their wedding day as “the best day of my life.” Stephanie and Justin celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in October 2019. During their marriage, the Lamberts built two beautiful and loving homes together. While working outside of the home, Stephanie had a successful professional career working in the Accounting, Executive Support and Human Resource fields.

The Lamberts welcomed their first child, a son Ayden Daniel, in August of 2012. Their second child, a daughter Evelynn Marie, was born in July 2015. Stephanie was passionate about being both a wife and mother, and fulfilled those roles with love, strength, generosity and laughter.

After only 10 months of marriage, Stephanie was diagnosed with brain cancer. Justin lovingly supported and cared for Stephanie for over 10 years, as the disease progressed into a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) terminal brain tumor. Stephanie showed tremendous grace and strength during her determined battle to beat this cancer. She never lost hope or her sense of humor and was focused on living happily and making as many memories as she could. She was loved and admired by hundreds of friends and loved ones across the globe.

Stephanie was a member of Katy’s First Baptist Church, and was an active and passionate volunteer in her community and at her children’s schools.

Stephanie Marie is survived by her loving husband, Justin James, and her beautiful children Ayden Daniel and Evelynn Marie. Immediate family survivors include her parents Catherine and George Shutts, brother Tyler (Wendy) Shutts, grandmother Sally Johnson, aunt Lisa (Howard) Smith, uncle Dan (Jenna) Johnson, cousin Jennifer (fiancé Zach) May, as well as numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins by marriage. Stephanie is preceded in death by her grandfather Larry Johnson.

Due to current CDC and state health restrictions, a memorial service and celebration of life for Stephanie will be announced on a later date and held at Katy’s First Baptist Church, in Katy, Texas, as soon as allowable.

The butterfly is symbolic of brain cancer awareness, so Stephanie’s celebration of life will be filled with vibrant colors and graceful ornate butterflies in her honor.
