Seven Lakes and Jordan each won their area round games on Friday, as both teams moved on to the regional quarterfinals after huge days.

The Spartans earned a 68-56 win over Heights in what was a close contest that Seven Lakes was able to pull away from late. The Spartans went up by six after the first quarter, but a big second quarter by Heights gave them a lead and the Spartans went into the locker room down 27-26. But Seven Lakes turned things around in a big way in the second half, going up by 14 at the end of the third quarter before sealing things in the fourth. The Spartans advance to play Stratford at 7 p.m. Monday at the Merrell Center.

Jordan was also in a tight contest that came down to the final seconds, with the Warriors pulling out a 46-45 win over a very talented Bellaire team. It was a tight game throughout, with Jordan holding a six point lead at halftime and having to hold on down the stretch to earn the win. The Warriors advance to play Cy-Creek in the regional quarterfinals, 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Berry Center.

Tompkins had its season come to an end on Friday, falling 91-63 to Cy-Creek. The Falcons put up an admirable performance while they were shorthanded but were unable to pull out a win.
