Isabella Rubio said she had a goal to win the Class III regional meet and Rubio accomplished it.
The Katy senior came in first place at at the regional meet, finishing with a time of 18 minutes, 30.72 seconds.
The senior’s performance helped lift Katy to a third place performance at the meet, as the team qualified for the state meet.
Cinco Ranch’s Alison Mueller finished second, just behind rubio with a time of 18 minutes, 32.86 seconds as Cinco Ranch finished fourth at the meet, also clenching a state championship berth as a team.
Mayde Creek’s Rachel Solano finished with a time of 19 minutes, 27.64 seconds and qualified for the state tournament as an individual.
On the boys side of 6A, Tompkins made it to state as a team and were led by Noah Howard, who finished 21st, with a time of 16 minutes, 36.6 seconds.
Seven Lakes Ruben Rojas finished third overall at the meet with a time of 15:40.48, Cinco Ranch’s Adrian Hahn Vadstein finished fourth with a time of 15 minutes, 43.9 seconds and David Livingston finished eighth with a time of 16 minutes, nine seconds as the three qualified individually for the state meet.
Jordan’s girls qualified for state as a team in 5A, as the team was paced by Ximena Lopez, who finished ninth with a time of 19 minutes, 30.8 seconds and Addison Sutton, who finished 15th with a time of 19 minutes, 49.7 seconds.
On the boys side of 5A, Paetow finished 12th as a team, failing to make it to the state meet. The teams top finisher was Rory Brown, who came in 22nd with a time of 16 minutes, 51.31 seconds.
