Royal TAFE breaks records at state, advances to nationals

The Royal Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) team showcased their excellence at the TAFE Teach Tomorrow Summit State Conference in Galveston February 16-19.

Nineteen state qualifiers competed in 12 events, and Royal TAFE made history with eleven students advancing to Nationals in nine events. In addition, for the third consecutive year, Royal TAFE earned the Gold Award for their chapter yearbook.

The students will now compete at the National Educators Rising Conference in Orlando, FL this summer. Lynette Beyer, TAFE advisor at Royal High School, expressed her pride in their hard work and dedication of all of the students:

· Quin Boak – JV Children's Literature K-3

· Eleanor Recinos & Kimberly Pedraza – Varsity Children's Literature Pre-K

· Walter Diaz – JV Spanish Children's Literature K-3

· Sara Melendez – Varsity Spanish Children's Literature K-3

· Andrea Rico and Ciana Diaz – Varsity Spanish Children's Literature Pre-K

· Victoria Gonzalez – Varsity Exploring Non-Core Teaching Subjects

· Alex Castillo and Consuelo Aguinaga – Varsity Elem. Interactive Bulletin Board

· Eleanor Recinos, Kimberly Pedraza, Kelsey Jung, & Melina Mendonca – Gold Chapter Yearbook
