For the first time in school history, Royal is heading to the state 7-on-7 tournament.

It was a big day for Royal, the Falcons went undefeated with a 4-0 record against stiff competition.

The Falcons started in pool play in Pool B of the tournament, beating Liberty 20-6, beating Silsbee 19-13 and overcoming Huffman-Hargrave 25-20 to make it to the state qualifying round.

Once there with a chance at state, Royal upped their level. The Falcons beat Hardin-Jefferson 25-13 to clinch their spot at state.

It’s a huge accomplishment for Royal and the first ever time the Falcons have qualified for state 7-on-7, which has been running since 1998.

Royal will compete in Division II at the tournament which will be held at Veterans Park in College Station. The Falcons will play June 27 in pool play and June 28 in the Championship Bracket. There will be no entry fee for spectators but be sure to bring water, a lawn chair and sunblock to beat the heat.
