Royal ISD hosted a “meet and greet” on February 13, welcoming Doreen Martinez as the principal of Royal Prairie Elementary School, the district’s second elementary school. The event brought together 52 attendees, all families of future Royal Prairie Elementary students, eager to connect and learn about the school’s vision. The campus in the Sunterra subdivision at 7560 Bartlett Rd. in Katy, will open in the fall of 2025.
Martinez, a finalist for the prestigious 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education “Principal of the Year Award,” shared her commitment to student-centered learning, community collaboration, and innovation. Families were encouraged to nominate ideas and join planning committees, ensuring strong engagement as the school prepares for its opening in the fall.
“Royal ISD is thrilled for the next chapter in its history as it expands to serve its growing community,” said a district spokesperson.
