Royal ISD’s Board of Trustees has selected Richard Kershner as the district’s newest superintendent.
Kershner currently serves as the assistant superintendent of leadership and culture in Splendora ISD. He began his career as a teacher in Sealy ISD and has also served as assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent of academic and human resource services in Katy, Royal and Splendora ISDs.
State law requires a 21-day waiting period before Kershner can officially take on the role.
