On Saturday, Nov. 13 Royal Future Farmers of America students traveled to Sealy High School for the 2021 Bluebonnet District Leadership Development Event competitions. After several events, Royal FFA advanced a total of 5 teams to the upcoming Area XI competition. A total of four, first-place teams and a second-place team advanced to the next round. The individual teams were Senior Chapter Conducting which placed first (Members: Alondra Melendez, Melani Alanis, Juan Grimaldo, Emily Contreras, Angel Velasquez, & Kayla Jung); Senior Agricultural Skills, which which also won their event (Members: Samantha Lopez, Jessica Payton, Hanna Ulbricht); Radio Broadcasting for another first place banner (Members: Litize Gonzalez, Kayla Jung, Kayla Longoria); Public Relations at the top of its event (Members: Kayla Longoria, Kaylee Meader, Kaelyn Hein, Elizabeth Ibarra). The Junior Agricultural Skills team placed 2nd (Members: Keylin Aragon, Karime Melgar, Janet Quinter). Additionally, Ag Issues placed fourth in its event (Members: Litzie Gonzales, Vladimir Moreno, Salma Reyes, Stephanie DeLaRosa, Cynthia Rivera. Ag Advocacy also took the fourth tier (Members: Katia Mendoza, Deysi Rivera, Isabell Bishop, Averi Rongey and Brianna Diezi) alongside the Senior Quiz team which also took fourth place in their event (Members: Jaylyn Danz, Lauren HIllsman, Elyssa Pruner and Dana Smith). Kimberly Pedraza took fifth in the Greenhand Creed event while Vladamir Moreno placed sixth in the Senior Creed competition. Finally, Jaylyn Danz took seventh place in the Job Interview event. Royal FFA will now move on to the Area XI competitions at Blinn College on Saturday, Nov. 20.
