Paetow High School senior Drake Ladig has been announced as the 2021 recipient of the Randall Beckendorff Memorial Scholarship. Ludig will use the $1,000 scholarship toward his education at San Angelo State University toward a degree in Agriculture Business.

“(Ladig) is such a fine young man,” said Christopher Sword of the Randall Beckendorff Memorial Scholarship Board.  “He is very deserving.  We plan to follow him in his future.” 

Ladig is active in the Paetow community where he was a National Honor Society participant and a member of Mu Alpha Theta – a national high school and two-year college mathematics honor society formed in 1957. Ludig is also a participant in Future Farmers of American and Paetow sports.

The Randall Beckendorff Memorial Scholarship was established in 1980 in honor of Randall (Randy) Beckendorff, a Katy area farmer. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students of average scholastic performance that are extremely dedicated and hard-working and intend to pursue education in an agricultural field of study.
