Paetow, Jordan will join 6A ranks

Every Katy ISD school will be in 6A next year based off the current numbers. District realignment is set for Feb. 3 and it is expected that Paetow and Jordan will join District 19-6A and there will continue to be an all Katy ISD district.

Paetow, Jordan will join 6A ranks

Paetow and Jordan will officially join the Class 6A ranks next year after the UIL announced its conference cutoff numbers on Wednesday.

Every Katy ISD school will be in 6A next year based off the current numbers. District realignment is set for Feb. 3 and it is expected that Paetow and Jordan will join District 19-6A and there will continue to be an all Katy ISD district.

Seven Lakes topped the enrollment snapshot numbers for Katy ISD released in October with 3,591 students, Cinco Ranch had 3,485 students and Tompkins had 3,261 students to round out the three highest enrollments in Katy ISD.

Morton Ranch had the least number of students, with 2,565. Jordan multiplied its current enrollment by 1.33 since the school does not have seniors and ended with the number 2,586.

Katy had the fourth highest enrollment in the district with 3,197 students while Paetow had 3,169 students and Taylor had 3,058 students. Mayde Creek had the third lowest enrollment with 2,586.

The cutoff for Class 6A was an enrollment of 2,225 students.
