Paetow dominates Cedar Park to reach regional final

Posted

Paetow may have never been to a regional semifinal before but that didn't matter to the Panthers.

Paetow rolled to a 65-14 win over Cedar Park to clinch its spot in its first ever regional final.

Jacob Brown got the team rolling early with a 72-yard touchdown and CJ Dumas made it a two-score lead with a 22-yard touchdown strike to Kole Wilson.

Cedar Park got a touchdown late in the first quarter, but Brown answered right back with a 25-yard touchdown of his own early in the second quarter. Dumas threw another touchdown late in the second quarter from 35-yards out to Wilson and Paetow took a 30-7 lead into halftime after a field goal.

Brown ran for two more touchdowns in the third quarter to cap off his terrific day. Daymion Sanford took an interception back for a touchdown and Gene Kendall ran in a touchdown in the third quarter. Paetow finished the day off with a 75-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.

The 65 points given up was the third most ever by Cedar Park and the most in a playoff game.

Paetow will play the winner of Manvel vs. Fort Bend Hightower in the Class 5A, Division I regional final, date, time and location to be determined.
