Plant nursery Newton Nurseries opened a new 153,000-square-foot wholesale operation in Katy on June 9 to serve professional landscapers in the area.

“For a landscape professional, time is money,” said Philippe Joubert, CEO of Newton Nurseries.  “Our new Katy nursery is laid out to help our customers pick out the items they need and check out quickly and efficiently.”

Located at 322 Buc-ee’s Boulevard, the location offers a selection of trees, shrubs, flowers, bedding plants, hard-to-find plants and associated landscape items. The operation houses a 7,000-square-foot greenhouse and a 20,000-sqaure-foot shade area. The site is gated and equipped with a water-efficient irrigation system.

The site is expected to bring 12 to 14 new jobs to the Katy area.

The new nursery caters to the communities of Copperfield, Pecan Grove, Cinco Ranch, Seven Meadows, Cypress, Richmond, Sugar Land, West Memorial and future developments between Katy and Brookshire. The company also operates in Houston and Austin.
