Michelle “Mickey” Leigh Broussard, age 44, was born on Sept 15, 1980, in Katy, TX and passed away on May 2, 2025, in Conroe, TX, where she resided. She is preceded in death by her husband, Obiekezie Obi of Nigeria.
Michelle was a certified teacher in Texas, specializing in math and special education. She taught for 12 years in various school districts in the Houston area. She grew up in Katy, TX, graduated from Taylor High School, and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Stephen F. Austin University.
Michelle is survived by her parents, Larry Broussard and Margaret Martin Broussard; siblings, Buddy Broussard and his wife, Patricia; Reina-Shay Broussard; and Brian Broussard. Also, her niblings, Dylan Broussard, Cayenne Broussard, and Isabella Broussard; and her great-niece, Luna Bella Stacey. Last but not least, her little Chihuahua, Gracie, whom she adored.
In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation in her name to a charity of your choosing that supports either unhoused people or animals. There will be a memorial service on Friday, May 30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, TX, at 10:30 am.
