Three members of Mayde Creek High School’s class of 2021 earned fine arts scholarships to different schools. Trey Serrano, Leo Rosebure and Victoria Taylor each accepted scholarships to their chosen alma maters during a May signing day.
“These students are paving the way for other fine arts students. Their work and contributions emphasize the importance of artists not only in the Katy area, but all over the world,” said Katy ISD Fine Arts Director Damon Archer.
Serrano, Rosebure and Taylor will be attending Temple University, Tennessee State University and Sam Houston State University, respectively, according to a KISD press release. During the May signing ceremony, each student signed letters of intent for their universities. Serrano will be studying music education; Rosebure will learn about commercial music; and Taylor will be a theater major.
“We are proud of them for aspiring to 'create a legacy’ in the world of fine arts,” Archer said.
