Mary Lucille Weadock Waldrop, 87, of Pattison, TX passed away at her daughter’s home in Fredericksburg,TX. on April 10, 2020.  Mary was born an identical twin on January 25, 1933. To the parents of, Bernard L. Weadock and Mary Moore in Hondo, Texas.  She was raised in Houston and attended Paschall High School in Ft. Worth, TX.  She met and married J. Carter Waldrop while working as a Bank Teller in Houston.  They married February 15, 1957.  They were blessed with two children, Richard (Rick) and Karen.

Anyone who knew Mary, knew she loved knitting. She was always working on a project for someone or something she could sell at a craft show or donate to an auction.  She wouldn’t have the internet installed but loved playing games on one of her many tablets.  She was an excellent cook and happiest when she was serving up a meal for the whole family; always trying to fix our favorites.  She loved her home and property smiling when the deer came to graze out her window.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Waldrop Porter and husband Rick of Fredericksburg, TX.; two grandchildren Melissa Porter Applelberry and husband Andrew of Missouri City, TX and Michael Porter of Spring, TX; her daughter-in-law, Kim Waldrop of San Felipe, TX; one grandson, Jon Carter Keaton Waldrop and wife, Erica of Marshall, TX; two great grandchildren Harloe and Slade; two sisters Nancy Breander of Conroe, TX and her identical twin, Shirley Manke of Katy, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard L. and Mary Moore Weadock; her husband, J. Carter Waldrop; her sister Gerry Grubbs; her brother, Bernard “Buddy” Weadock; and her son Richard “Rick” Waldrop.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at San Felipe United Methodist Church. (Visitation prior to service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.)  Luncheon will follow at the home of Kim Waldrop.
