Katy ISD announced Friday afternoon that each teacher in the district will receive a $200 spending allotment from the district through a partnership with Amazon for classroom supplies. The funding is in addition to instructional supplies already provided by Katy ISD campuses.
“We understand that there will always be a few additional items our teachers would love to incorporate into their classrooms, and we do not want the cost of those things to come out of their pocket,” KISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski said.
Beginning next week, teachers will have the ability to log into Amazon’s website and select the items they want for their classrooms through a setup that is similar to the online retailer’s 1-Click expedited ordering system. The purchases will then be sent directly to the teacher’s campus.
“As a District we are committed to ensuring our teachers receive everything they need to deliver high quality instruction and unparalleled learning,” Gregorski said.
