KISD recognized as best school district in Houston area by Niche

Katy Independent School District has been recognized for excellence by Niche, an organization that helps parents identify educational facilities for their children. Out of the 1,018 school districts ranked in Texas, Katy ISD was named the #1 school district in the Houston area and #13 in the state by Niche’s 2022 Best Schools list.

 “This recognition reflects the deep commitment of our staff and support of our local community to provide exceptional educational experiences to our more than 88,000 students,” said KISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski. 

Niche also ranks 14 elementary schools among the best schools in the Houston Metro area, along with eight junior highs and three high schools — all topping the 25 list in their respective categories.

Each year, Niche, a ranking and review organization for K-12 schools, assesses school districts from across the country. The organization’s rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics, reviews from students and parents, and data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, among other criteria.
