KISD Partners in Education launches Food for Families – School’s Out campaign

Posted

Katy ISD’s Partners in Education program is launching its annual Food for Families campaign, but this year will be adding a new component to help families over the summer whereas it was primarily a holiday program in the past.

The program will work with KISD junior high schools to identify students with families facing food insecurity and provide them with gift cards to help purchase food over the summer months. Gift cards will be distributed to students before school is out with a note and best wishes from the KISD community.

Over the 2020 holiday season, Food for Families raised more than $60,000. Since its creation in 2002, the program has raised more than $300,000 and assisted more than 6,300 families.
