Investigators seek assistance in identifying driver of car found in pool

Investigators with Harris County Constable for Precinct 5 Ted Heap’s office are seeking information regarding a July 4 incident that resulted in a vehicle sunk in a community pool.

“Pct. 5 deputies were called to the Windchase Westwind North pool in the 2900 block of Shadow Trail Drive at approximately 3 a.m. on the morning of July 4.  They found a wrecked Mazda sedan sinking in the pool.  Nobody was inside,” an announcement on Precinct 3’s social media said.

The vehicle had smashed through a metal fence before landing in the deep end of the pool. Pieces of fence and several tables from the pool’s patio also ended up in the water.

Witnesses said they heard the crash and said the driver exited the vehicle after it stopped and appeared to be uninjured when he fled on foot.

“The pool sustained significant damage and is closed indefinitely,” the statement said.

Anyone with information about the incident may call Constable Heap's office at 832-927-6700 or file a tip online at: https://constablepct5.com/index.php/online-crime-tips/
