The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an auto-pedestrian crash that killed a man early Sunday morning near Mason Road.
According to deputies, a 2016 Ford Edge was traveling eastbound in the 21800 block of the Katy Freeway eastbound service road, near Mason Road. Deputies said a male pedestrian was either standing or sitting on the west embankment of Mason Creek as the Ford left the roadway and hit him.
Deputies said the Ford came to a stop on the east embankment of Mason Creek. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The pedestrian’s name has not been released.
Deputies said the driver of the Ford is a 21-year-old female and was taken by LifeFlight to a local hospital. Deputies said the woman, whose name has not been released, is suspected of driving while intoxicated.
