Former Tompkins cross country and track standout Cole Lindhorst broke the 4-minute mile at the Iowa State Classic last weekend. Lindhorst, a true freshman competing for Air Force, ran a 3:59.28 to place third at the event. Lindhorst’s time is an Academy record. On Jan. 23, Lindhorst kicked off his collegiate career with a victory in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.11. Lindhorst was a state champ in the 1600-meter run and an all-state cross country runner at Tompkins. …

Morton Ranch senior offensive lineman Eric Ramos and Tompkins senior defensive back Dru Polidore were recognized as finalists for the Houston Touchdown Club Football Scholar-Athlete last week. Ramos has a 4.5 GPA (on a 5.0 scale), ranks 11th in his class of 567 and was a team captain for the Mavericks. Polidore has a 3.6 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and was a team captain for the Falcons. …
