Faith West Academy cheer squad captures state title
On December 10 the cheerleaders from Faith West Academy won the TAAPS 2024 Cheer State Championship in Waco, Texas, competing in the 2/3A traditional small squad division. Front row (left to right): Isabella Harrell, Sarah Troxel, Sara Reeves (Captain),Mariah Troxel (Captain), Laurel Wettman and Sophia Jurak. Back row (left to right): Riley Walsh, Isabella Garay, Reese (Emerie) Chambers, Leah Walsh and Sophia Snider. Coach Lauren Garay is not pictured. In addition to receiving a superior team ranking, team members won additional individual awards. First team Allstate cheerleaders were Mariah Troxel, Sara Reeves and Sophia Jurak. Second team Allstate cheerleader was Isabella Harrell, and semifinalist top five jumper was Sara Reeves.
