Dennis D Teeter Sr

Dennis D Teeter Sr. was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on May 9th, 1945, and passed on February 4th, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susie Teeter and their three children, Amanda (Carrie), Jennifer (David and two daughters Victoria and Alexandra), and Dennis Jr. (Bethan and their daughter Carys).

He graduated the University of Iowa Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1967. He continued his academic career at the University of Iowa School of Law, where he was Order of the Coiff and Editor of the Law School Review, graduating in May 1970. In June 1970, he entered the United States Air Force as a Captain, serving the Judge Advocate General’s Office, and was honorably discharged as Staff Judge Advocate June 30th, 1974.

Dennis practiced law in the Greater Houston Area for over 40 years, and retired after a distinguished career January 1st, 2012. His legal career included prestigious firms such as Childs, Fortenbach, Beck and Guyton, and he retired from Century Air Conditioning and Supply as General Council. He maintained licenses for the Iowa and Texas State Bars.

He was a devoted husband to Susie, where they filled their time exploring the world, engaging in games and activities, and supporting Man U soccer. He loved Halloween, all music, was an avid yard man, known as a bit of a pool shark, and amateur Motorcross racer. He was an excellent father, never missing a child’s extracurricular activity and, above all, always put his family first. He extending his love and presence to his granddaughters, with slumber parties, movies and games.
