Davis named Touchdown Club of Houston offensive player of the year

The Katy senior running back was honored as the offensive player of the year by the Touchdown Club of Houston at the Club’s 43rd annual banquet after a season in which he became Katy’s all-time leading rusher.

Davis named Touchdown Club of Houston offensive player of the year

Seth Davis added another accomplishment to his everbuilding resume on Wednesday.

The Katy senior running back was honored as the offensive player of the year by the Touchdown Club of Houston at the Club’s 43rd annual banquet after a season in which he became Katy’s all-time leading rusher and led the Tigers to a district title and state semifinal appearance. The banquet was held at the Bayou Special Events Center.

Davis finished the year with 2,473 yards and 34 touchdowns, bringing his career yardage numbers to 6,691 and surpassing Katy legend Rodney Anderson for the top mark in a Tigers uniform. Davis, a Mississippi State commit, has continued to add to his resume before leaving for Starkville Ms.

Davis was named offensive player of the year over a number finalists that included Cinco Ranch senior quarterback Gavin Rutherford. 

North Shore defensive lineman Elijah Fields was named defensive player fo the year afer helping lead the team back to a Class 6A-Division I state championship game. He beat out a number of finalists for the award that included Katy senior safety Johnathan Hall and Paetow defensive lineman D.J. Hicks Jr.

Westfields Matt Meekins was named coach of the year after leading the Mustangs to a 12-2 record and a 7-0 record in District 14-6A. Meekins beat out Cinco Ranch’s Chris Dudley for the award, as the Cinco Ranch head coach was a finalist.
