Constables arrest serial burglary suspect

Harris County Constable Ted Heap’s office announced via social media Thursday afternoon that Thomas Ryan Hubbard, 44, has been arrested at his home in the 3,600 block of Laverne Street on Dec. 9. Hubbard, who has a record of burglary, theft and driving stolen vehicles was released on parole over the summer for a prior conviction, was arrested on burglary and theft charges.

“The arrest followed a lengthy investigation into a string of burglaries and thefts since September.  Home surveillance videos captured images of the suspect driving neighborhood streets in a maroon Chevy Tahoe late at night, stealing everything from tackle boxes to lawn furniture to children’s bicycle,” the social media post said.

Investigators with Heap’s office were able to identify Hubbard as the suspect and he was arrested without incident.

Harris County Jail online records show Hubbard in custody with a bond of $2,500 under charges for theft of property worth $2,500 or less with two or more prior convictions. A court date is set for Feb. 2, 2021.
