Christmas in Katy Car Show set for Dec. 10

Common Ground Community Church invites the public to its annual Christmas in Katy Car Show, set for 12-4 p.m. at Bryant Elementary, 29801 Kingsland Blvd.

The event features a car show competition, Christmas karaoke, door prizes, food trucks, kids carnival games, live music, pictures with Santa and a vendor market.

Admission is free but cash donations are encouraged. Proceeds benefit Hope Impacts, Katy Christian Ministries and the Bryant Elementary PTA. Other donation items needed include sleeping bags, thermals and gently used tennis shoes for men and women all sizes.

First Christian Church Katy hosts Christmas with the Queens: Drag Bingo Event Dec. 10

First Christian Church Katy invites the public to its Christmas with the Queens: Drag Bingo event, which is at 11 a.m. Dec. 10 at the church, 22101 Morton Road. Proceeds benefit the Transparent Closet.

Citizens for Animal Protection to hold open house Dec. 10

Citizens for Animal Protection will hold an open house and pet adoption event Dec. 10 at 17555 Katy Fwy.

Refreshments will be served from 12-4 p.m. All pets will be available for adoption from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. All pets will be available for adoption for 50% adoption fees. If you wear an holiday Ugly Sweater your adoption fee will be waived. All adoptions are sponsored by West Houston Subaru.

The Arc of Katy presents Jingle Bell Jam Dec. 10

The Arc of Katy presents Jingle Bell Jam, an event featuring skits and songs featuring classic Christmas stories.

Tickets are $10. The event is set for 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at 700 Westgreen Blvd.

Katy Tigers quarterback receives Most Driven Scholar Athlete Award

Katy High School quarterback Caleb Koger has been recognized with the Most Driven Scholar Athlete Award for his classroom leadership. He is one of 10 finalists spotlighted by Dave Campbelll’s Texas Football and Pep Boys have partnered to find the Most Driven Team in Texas. This fall, ten 10 finalists were spotlighted during the season and one student athlete from each team will be recognized with the Most Driven Scholar Athlete Award for their leadership in the classroom.

During November, all ten communities rallied the vote on TexasFootball.com competing for the crown of being named the Most Driven Team in Texas. The school with the most online votes will be recognized at the 2022 UIL Football State Championships at AT&T Stadium and will be presented with a $10,000 donation back to their school thanks to the support of Pep Boys. Fort Bend Junior Service League accepting applications for core or event placements

The Fort Bend Junior Service League is now accepting applications from local qualifying 501(c)3 organizations to be considered as a Core or Event Placement for its 2023-2025 league years. This process occurs every two years. The league serves Fort Bend County and its people through volunteerism and charitable fundraising. For the application and position, visit the website fbjsl.org.
