Seven Lakes Justice Carlton and Paetow’s Trevor Frank were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State team.
Carlton was named to the team after an outstanding sophomore season in which she led the Spartans to a regional semifinal appearance while averaging 25.5 points per game, 10 rebounds and three blocks per game.
Carlton made a huge step in her sophomore year and expects to be even more dominant as a junior. She has already received over 20 offers to play at the collegiate level.
On the boys side, Paetow’s Trevor Frank was named all-state. Frank helped lead the Panther’s to their second straight regional tournament and a District 19-5A title. Frank is signed to play at Dallas Baptist University.
Two Katy ISD coaches were also recognized by the TABC in Seven Lakes Angela Spurlock and Mayde Creek’s Anthony Fobb, who were named outstanding coaches.
Spurlock coached Seven Lakes back to their first regional tournament since the 2012-2013 season. Spurlock led a young team that clinched a share of the District 19-6A title and had lots of playoff success.
Fobb coached Mayde Creek to its fourth consecutive playoff appearance, the most by any Katy ISD boys basketball team at the moment, and guided the team to its furthest ever appearance in the playoffs, as the Rams made the regional quarterfinals. Fobb did all this with a team that started two freshman and played many underclassmen, as the Rams should be even better next season.
