Brookshire Bros. Franz Road location getting a facelift

The Brookshire Brothers store at 5249 Franz Road in Katy is undergoing a facelift that will include updating the storefront with new paint and décor, a new in-store coffee shop, updated restrooms and new refrigerator cases, the store said in a press release.

“We take pride in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience, both in the store and online,” said Brookshire Brothers President and CEO John Alston.

The store will remain open while the more than $2 million in renovations are installed. Renovations are expected to be completed in December.

“I love seeing city of Katy businesses, even chains doing well enough to expand, renovate and meet the needs of patrons. Excited about seeing the end result and hope it makes Brookshire brothers even more successful,” said Adrienne Davitz, a resident of Katy who will take also take on the mantle of president of the Katy Heritage Society Jan. 1.

The renovations are being done at the same time the store will begin launching its online services under the Brookshire Brothers Anywhere brand, the press release said. The service is expected to launch Nov. 16 and will include curbside and home delivery services. The online platform allows customers to interact with in-store personal shoppers and make notes on their grocery preferences such as how ripe they want their produce or how thick they want their steaks to be cut, the press release said.

“Through our online shopping platform, Brookshire Brothers Anywhere, we provide our customers the same level of friendly, personalized service that they would experience in the store with us,” Alston said. “Convenience is key, but so is high-quality customer service. You shouldn’t have to settle for one or the other.”

Brookshire Brothers is an employee-owned grocer based in Lufkin, Texas. It was founded in 1921 and operates more than 116 locations from the Texas Hill Country east to Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Once the renovations are finished, a Brookshire Brother Brews coffee shop will be available to shoppers. The new shop will include an espresso and coffee bar that offers custom-made lattes, cappuccinos, cold brews, and milkshakes made from Blue Bell ice cream as well as fruit smoothies.

The deli will also be enlarged, and customers will be able to partake in an expanded selection of barbecued meats including brisket, ribs and sausage, among others.

“Whether it’s offering fast-and-easy meal solutions, friendly service or enjoying a freshly roasted cup of coffee, we want our customers to know they are the most important part of our business,” Alston said.
