After 75 hours of rigorous exams, spanning 37 days and involving 45 distinct papers, British International School Houston (BIS Houston) announced December 11 the outstanding achievements of its students in the 2023/2024 Pearson Edexcel IGCSE examinations. Several BIS Houston students have earned the prestigious Outstanding Pearson Learner Award, joining an elite group of over 2,200 students from 750 schools across 82 countries.

The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (OPLAs) are presented annually to top-performing students who achieve the highest marks in their respective subjects—whether in their country, region, or globally.

The following BIS Houston students received the 2024 Outstanding Pearson Learner Award:

· Pedro – Highest Mark in the World, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Art and Design: Three Dimensional Design

· Sergio – Highest Mark in the Americas, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Biology

· Sergio – Highest Mark in the United States of America, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Chemistry

· Sergio – Highest Mark in the Americas, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Physics

· Stella – Highest Mark in the United States of America, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE French
