Taylor came into the seventh inning trailing against Seven Lakes, but used a three run inning to beat the Spartans 6-4.

Jared Schaeffer got the win for Taylor, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out six and walking one.

Seven Lakes took the lead in the first inning, as Nathan Johnson reached on an error and a run came around to score and Carlos Michinaux hit an RBI single to make things 2-0 Spartans. Taylor took the lead back in the second, as after the first two runners reached base, Nathaniel Lopez bunted and forced an error as a run came around to score and Camden Champness hit a sacrifice fly to tie things. Lopez then scored on a passed ball to make it 3-2 Taylor.

Things stayed that way until the bottom of the sixth, Michinaux hit an RBI double to tie the game, before Won Lee hit an RBI single to give Seven Lakes a one-run lead.

But Taylor was not going to be denied. The Mustangs got two runners on base with walks, bringing Hunter Ham to the plate, Ham stepper up and hit a three-run home run to left field to give Taylor the lead.

Schaeffer walked a batter to start the bottom of the seventh, and Blake Wolf came on in relief to close things out, inducing a fly out, a ground out and striking out one in the three batters he faced.

Tyler Welch took the loss for Seven Lakes, allowing three earned runs on one hit and striking out two while walking two in one inning pitched.

Cinco Ranch blanks Mayde Creek

Blake Hansen was feeling it on the mound for Cinco Ranch.

The senior pitched a complete game shutout, striking out eight, walking one and allowing just three hits over six innings as Cinco Ranch topped Mayde Creek 14-0.

The Cougars offense got on the board early and gave Hansen all he would need to work with. Connor Ficcara hit an RBI single after three runners reached and two more runs came around to score on wild pitches to give Cinco a 3-0 lead. Hansen then tripled in the third and scored on a wild pitch again before Cinco broke things open in the fifth.

Two runners reached to start the inning before Ethan Muniz singled to drive in two more runs. Muniz then came around to score on a wild pitch himself to make the lead 7-0 for the Cougars.

Cinco then put things completely to bed in the sixth. After a run scored on an error, Lucas Franco hit an RBI single and Muniz drove in another run on a double before scoring on a passed ball. Gavin Rutherford made it 13-0 on an RBI triple before Cory Moseley capped things off with an RBI single in a dominant Cinco Ranch win.

Jordan falls to Brenham

Jordan took an early lead but couldn’t hang around against Brenham, in a 12-2 loss.

The Warriors jumped ahead in the first two innings. After two singles to start the first, Aidan McHugh hit an RBI double to get a run on the board for Jordan and James Lacy hit an RBI double in the second to double that lead for Jordan. But that would be the last time the Warriors scored in the game. Brenham scored three in the bottom of the second to gain the lead, before scoring five in the third, two in the fourth and two in the sixth to secure the win.

J Ortigoza was given the loss for Tompkins, allowing six earned runs on seven hits while walking two in the Jordan loss.
