Anas Garfaoui has left his post as assistant city administrator for the City of Katy to become assistant city manager for the City of Live Oak.
Live Oak has a population of approximately 15,781, according to the 2020 U.S. Census. It is in Bexar County, just north of San Antonio.
Garfaoui grew up in Katy and is a graduate of Mayde Creek High School. He became interested in municipal government while earning his public administration degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, from which he graduated in 2012.
Later he completed the certified public manager program at the Hobby School for Public Affairs at the University of Houston.
Garfaoui joined the City of Katy and became a city planner before being appointed assistant city administrator in July 2021.
