Another year of Katy ISD soccer is set to kick off this week with the start of the I-10 shootout signaling the start of the season. It’s another strong bracket in the I-10 shootout which will bring some of the strongest teams in the state to Katy. more

Two Katy ISD graduates, Jalen Milroe and David Gbenda, fell just short of getting to the College Football Playoff National Title game last week, with both the University of Alabama and the University of Texas coming yards away from extending their seasons. more
Kassie O’Brien headlined this year’s Greater Houston Volleyball Caoches Association Postseason Awards, being named the setter of the year for the greater Houston area after helping Cinco Ranch to a state final appearance and a District 19-6A title. more
“We have a lot of young guys who have stepped up this year and provided energy to our team. That’s what I told these young guys when I met with them in the offseason and they’ve done that since day one. They bring the energy and set the tone and you saw that today. more
District 19-6A has consistently been one of the best in the state for a prolonged period, and this year has a chance to one of the best we have seen out of the school district. more
After a huge senior season even with missing time with injury, Wyatt Young took home the District 19-6A Most Valuable Player Award, leading Tompkins to its sixth straight playoff appearance and putting up numbers along the way. more
“She’s just become more of a total team player,” said Tompkins head coach Tamatha Ray. “She understands that she’s going to get her opportunities and that she has to be locked in on both ends of the floor." more
 “The main thing is we have to play better football,” Ryans said. “Before we have the opportunity to talk about playoffs or getting in or anything like that you have to play better and you have to earn those spots to get in the playoffs." more
Kassie O’Brien and Gabi Martinez took home Co-MVP honors out of the district after helping Cinco to their best ever season. The duo helped lead the Cougars to an undefeated district title, a Region III-6A title and an appearance in the state title game. more
Mayde Creek graduate James Thomas had a major accomplishment recently, as he was named the new head track and field and cross country coach at the University of Oklahoma, a huge accomplishment after years of hard work as an assistant coach. more
“We just played hard and that’s the key for everything,” said junior guard Aniya Foy. “We knew what we were in for today, we haven’t beat Katy in a while so our main focus was not ever letting them break us and finding a way to win." more
“Our press is hard for teams to deal with, we have a bunch of very long players and then two quick guards to back them up so a lot of teams have a hard time handling that pressure. It’s a huge advantage for us, it helps us get out on the break and it’s a fun way to play.” more
