Diane Marie Hollingsworth (Bognar) of Katy, Texas, age 66, was welcomed into the gates of heaven on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
Diane was born on November 27, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to Adolph L. and Yvonne (Flinn) Bognar. She was a 1971 graduate of Affton High School and a 1975 graduate and member of Sigma Sigma Sigma at Central Missouri State University. She was a proud stay at home mother and after her boys were in school, continued her career as a licensed speech pathologist.
Diane happily retired in 2012 and enjoyed quality time with her family and friends until her last day. She was happiest when surrounded by people she loved. She loved music, traveling, gardening, and the ever-altered interior design of her home. She was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, Texas.
Diane’s huge heart, storytelling, and laughter will forever be her legacy. She was always the life of the party and spread joy to anyone she was around.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph L. and Yvonne Bognar of St. Louis, Missouri; and by her mother-in-law, Neysia Hollingsworth of Houston, Texas.
Diane is survived by her husband, Richard Hollingsworth; her sons, Matthew Hoatson and Mitchell Hoatson and wife Danielle; grandson, Jacob, all of Katy, Texas; siblings, John Bognar and wife Colleen of St. Louis, Missouri, Julie Haring and husband John of Fenton, Missouri, Matthew Bognar and wife Allison of Katy, Texas, Sally Bognar of Oakville, Missouri, Christine Bognar of Arnold, Missouri, and Jeff Bognar of Johnston, Iowa; and brother-in-law, John Hollingsworth and wife Karen of Katy, Texas. She is also survived by 9 nephews, 5 nieces, 19 great nieces and nephews, and 46 first cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 with Rev. Ryan Rush of Kingsland Baptist Church officiating. Private interment will be held in Houston National Cemetery.
