Dill Charles Foley age 78 died June 5th in Katy, Texas. Dill was born on March 15, 1940 to Lewis Arthur Foley and Edith Nadine Dill Foley in Evansville, Indiana.
Dill came to Texas as a small child and has considered himself a Texan ever since. He lived in many towns and cities in Texas but considered Katy his home.
Many in Katy know Dill from “Dills Ice House” and many know him from his years in retail at Globe, Kmart, Handy Dan and most recent Katy Hardware.
Dill was Proud and served his country as a US Marine. As an avid sports fan he enjoyed backing the home teams. He loved westerns and all things John Wayne which lead him to spend some time working with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Dill never met a stranger and made everyone feel like they were important. His family was always first and he believed that family was the most important part of his life. He loved family dinners, holiday meals and enjoyed getting extended family together for visits and reunions.
Dill is survived by his wife Anna Foley of Katy, Daughter Renee Foley and wife Karrie, Daughter Patti O’Malley and husband Bob, Daughter Susie Foley and daughter in law Gina Foley. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Dustin, Kenny and wife Kristee, Cierra, Abby, Alyssa, Corianne, Jacob, Aaron, Deanna, Bianca, Emma and a great granddaughter Lucy.
Dill was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Foley and his son Dennis Foley.
A celebration of life service for his friends and family will be held Saturday, June 16th from 3-6 in the parish hall at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 5356 11th St. Katy, TX 77493
