Naomi Jane Walker was born on Feb. 15, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to Dess Gore and Josephine Ethel Palmer Gore. She has lived in the Katy area since 1994 and was a member of Second Baptist Church West Campus in Katy. Jane loved people, flowers and animals, especially dogs, and always had a smile on her face.
Naomi Jane Walker passed away on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 in Sugarland, Texas at the age of 83 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacque Freeman of Katy; her stepson, Brady A. Roseberry and wife Karen of Edmond, Okla.; her sister, Maxine Baker of Springfield, Mo.; nieces, Sharon Baker, Shirley Enlow and Trish Foster; numerous other relatives; and her special caregivers, Isabel Garcia and Preston Maginot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brady Alexander Walker on April 12, 1999; by her parents, Dess Gore and Josephine Ethel Palmer Gore; brothers, Russell Gore, Luther Gore and Donnie Gore; sister, Virginia Gore; nephew, Wayne Baker; and great-nephew, Cole Winebrinner.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Katy. A memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at the Williams House at Second Baptist Church West Campus with Rev. Wayne Fancher officiating.
