Bullet proof glass approved for police station

Posted: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 12:00 am

The Katy Police Department is looking to replace the windows along the side of the station facing Franz Road with bullet-proof glass.

“There was an oversight when the building was constructed, and in light of Hurricane Ike and seeing how this is the central command station for any catastrophic event that takes place, we feel it is important to better secure the building for the personnel that will be in there for a certain incident,” assistant police chief Tim Tyler told the Times.
