The 2024 Rice Harvest Festival took place in the City of Katy’s historic downtown square at Avenue C and Second Street on October 12-13. Line dancing at the event was sponsored by Done Deal Dancing. Live music performances during the festival included red dirt country artist Stoney LaRue, Little Texas and local favorite Hayden Baker, among others. Preliminary attendance and revenue figures are still being compiled and are not yet available, said City of Katy Parks & Recreation Director Kevin Browne on Monday, October 14 in an email to the Katy Times. The 2025 Rice Harvest Festival dates have been set, with the parade taking place on October 4, 2025, and the two-day festival scheduled for October 11-12, 2025. Co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Katy, the extravaganza raises funds for local scholarships and for grants to local nonprofits.
